Visible Minority Reference Group

The National Visible Minority Reference Group (NVMRG) membership was comprised solely of representatives from the voluntary sector. From Spring 2001 to October 2002, the NVMRG gathered 18 members from national organizations across Canada to discuss issues of concern to the visible minority communities in Canada.

One of the accomplishments of the NVMRG was to publish a report on the status of visible minority communities across Canada. The main goal of this report, entitled: Research Project on Visible Minority Communities in Canada, was to gather, consolidate and document available information on visible minority communities in Canada, with specific reference to demographics, community institutions and major issues.

To receive a hard copy of the report titled “Research Project on Visible Minority Communities in Canada”, please contact Nadine Thériault at ntheriault@vsi-isbc.org.
