2. Reporting Back - Joint Coordinating Committee
Item summary
Suzanne Lawson and Jérôme Moisan met with members of the Joint Coordinating Committee on Thursday, January 31st, 2002. The co-chairs presented an overview document highlighting the Joint Awareness Table's progress to date.
The Joint Coordinating Committee members were pleased with the progress made to date by the Joint Awareness Table and were in agreement with the general directions adopted by Joint Awareness Table members.
Members of the Joint Coordinating Committee also thanked the Joint Awareness Table for its contribution to the Outreach Initiative.

3. Reporting Back - Aboriginal Reference Group
Item summary
Jérôme Moisan met with members of the Aboriginal Reference Group on Monday, January 28th, 2002 in Vancouver. The purpose of this meeting was to highlight the Joint Awareness Table's commitment to fund the Aboriginal Reference Group video. The video highlights the contribution of Aboriginal people in the voluntary sector.
Members of the Aboriginal Reference Group were pleased to have the opportunity to meet with one of the co-chairs of the Joint Awareness Table and thank the Table for its contribution.

4. Consultations
Item summary
Jérôme Moisan updated members on the recent development surrounding the upcoming Voluntary Sector Initiative pooled consultations. The Joint Awareness Table Secretariat has hired two consultants who will be responsible for facilitating the discussions during these consultations.
Co-chairs also indicated their wish to have at least one member of the Joint Awareness Table present at every consultation.
Decision and Action
Findings will be presented to members at the next meeting.
5. Voluntary Sector Awareness Campaign, Awards Program, and Youth Initiative
The AJT Secretariat has hired consultants to further develop the frameworks on each of these initiatives presented by AJT members at their last meeting. The consultants will table their reports at the next AJT meeting, March23-24 in Toronto.
6. Government Awareness Initiative
Item summary
Jérôme Moisan updated members on the status of this initiative.
Talks are underway with members of the Joint Accord Table, who are presently examining ways to reach senior officials of the Public Service and have the Accord disseminated throughout the Federal Government.
7. Corporate and Voluntary Sector Partnership Initiative
Item summary
Jamey Burr presented members with a draft Request for Proposal.
Decision and Action
Members are invited to review and comment on the proposal. The Joint Awareness Table Secretariat is to examine the proposal and identify appropriate measures and mechanisms in place at Canadian Heritage which would facilitate the development of a framework for this initiative.
8. Joint Awareness Table Final Report
Item summary
The idea of producing a final report highlighting the Joint Awareness Table findings and recommendations was brought to the attention of members by the co-chairs. All members were in agreement with the idea of having a final report prepared which could be presented to the Joint Coordinating Committee in Fall 2002.
Decision and Action
Havi Echenberg and Raymond Rivet are to verify with officials at the Voluntary Sector Initiative Secretariat and the Voluntary Sector Task Force if the Joint Coordinating Committee will be officially requesting final report from all Tables by the end of 2002 and which format should be adopted for its preparation.
