1. Approval of Minutes
Approved without changes.
2. Report on the NVI Meeting of Monday, May 28th, 2001
Jérôme Moisan updated members on the meeting of the National Volunteerism Initiative Joint Table he and Suzanne Lawson attended on Monday, May 28th, 2001.
The co-chairs of both of the Joint Tables came to the conclusion that is is very important to have greater coordination between both tables. They are to meet in September to identify mechanisms which will ensure a better coordination and exchange of each other's work.
3. Report on the Meeting held on Monday, May 28th, 2001 between the Reference Group of Ministers and the Senior Sector Steering Committee
Suzanne Lawson updated members on the meeting between the Reference Group of Ministers and Senior Sector Steering Committee which she attended on Monday, May 28th, 2001.
4. Report on the Meeting held on Monday, May 28th, 2001 between the Assistant Deputy Ministers Executive Committee and the Senior Sector Steering Committee.
Suzanne Lawson updated members on the meeting between the Assistant Deputy Ministers Executive Committee and the Senior Sector Steering Committee which she attended on Monday, May 28th, 2001.
5. Report on Ethical Guidelines and Conflict of Interest Code
Suzanne briefed committee members on the Report on Ethical Guidelines and Conflict of Interest Code which was approved by the Joint Coordinating Committee on Thursday, May 31st, 2001. The guidelines were adopted unanimously by Joint Awareness Table members.
6. Key Learning and Critical Path
Members formed small working group to discuss our key learnings to date, our next steps, and possible key messages. Ann Dostaler and Kyle Cyr are to draft a consolidation piece highlighting our progress to date and the work done in small groups during this session.
7. Our Meeting in September 2001
At the end of our meeting, members concluded that at our next meeting in September, a "Think Tank Consultation Session" would be useful and would help us in our transition to phase III of our workplan. The Joint Awareness Secretariat is to organize the event in consultation with co-chairs. Table members were encouraged to suggest names of facilitators and experts for this event.
During this session, a committee composed of Sue Tomney, Murry Krause and Martyn Goodger are to examine and draft potential consultation items to be used during the series of consultations to be held in the fall.
8. Our Millennium
Monica Patten and Anne-Marie McElrone from Community Foundations of Canada made a brief presentation on Our Millennium. The presentation consisted of brief description of the initiative followed by a report on high-points and hazards which occurred along the road to community mobilization.
