How
would the proposed intended results of the CVSAI manifest
themselves? How will we know if the results were achieved?
The intended results are longer term. It is likely that
results will manifest themselves through changed beliefs,
attitudes and behaviors.
Applicants are responsible for demonstrating how they
intend to measure and how this project will move towards those
long term results.

Are applicants
bound to the communications components contained in the document
entitled “Strategic Communications Framework Including
Recommendations for Implementation”?
No. The information contained in the above documents are
recommendations by the Awareness Initiative Advisory Committee.
Communications components such as the proposed key messages,
target audiences and recommended tools are examples of activities
and approaches. However, all proposed communication components
must be presented with appropriate justifications/research
as to how they will move towards the intended results
The two pronged approach (the national and the community-based
components) is the only aspect of the Strategic Communications
Framework to be respected.

What is the
call to action of the CVSAI?
A single call to action hasn’t been identified.
There has been a discussion as to whether or not this should
be an awareness campaign/information or a call to action.
Applicants are welcome to identify potential call to actions.
Call to actions may include, but are not limited to:
a. The re-engagement of the proposed target audience
to the voluntary sector.
b. An increase demand by the proposed target audience of
information about the voluntary sector

4. |
Is media to

How will
the CVSAI distinguish itself from the Canada Volunteerism
Initiative (CVI) awareness campaign about volunteers?
The CVSAI aims to position the
voluntary sector in Canadian society so that its contribution
to Canada’s way of life is valued and supported by
individuals, communities, public and private sectors. The
CVI aims to improve the ability of organizations to benefit
from the contribution of volunteers, to encourage Canadians
to participate in voluntary organizations, and to enhance
the experience of volunteering.
|
| 7. |
Are in-kind
contributions required or expected?
In-kind contributions are considered
but not mandatory.
|
| 8. |
Is the term
“voluntary sector” the only terminology to be
used in messaging?
The campaign is not intended
to brand the term "Voluntary Sector" but to create
an "Identifier" for the sector. NGO, not-for-profit,
registered charities, etc. are terms that can be used to
identify the sector in conjunction with the term voluntary
sector. The campaign is intended to highlight the existence
and contribution of 3rd sector in Canadian society.
|
| 9. |
How will
the CVSAI deal with the linguistic, regional and cultural
realities of Canada’s voluntary sector?
Communications components to
be developed at the national and community-level are to
be generic. However, the CVSAI communications components
MUST be developed and adapted to reflect the linguistic,
regional and cultural realities the voluntary sector in
French Canada.
