Announcement: Organization chosen for the Request for Funding
Opportunities (RFO): “Funding Access Project”
Following the RFO for the “Funding Access Project”
that closed August 29, 2003, the IM/IT Advisory Group and Industry
Canada are pleased to announce that the Canadian Centre for Philanthropy
(CCP) has been chosen as the lead voluntary sector organization
to work with the IM/IT Secretariat to deliver activities and oversee
the project.
The CCP is a membership-based organization that works with charities,
governments and corporations to advance the role and interests
of the charitable sector for the benefit of Canadian communities.
CCP’s proposal involves the creation of a new business model
for their Canadian Directory to Foundations and Grants. The proposed
Funding Access Project will enable free access to core information
in CCP’s Directory while expanding the scope and functionality
of the Directory to increase its usefulness to the sector, and
enable the provision of additional value-added services to grant-seekers
and grant-makers.
The knowledge that CCP has of the voluntary sector in Canada
and its experience with related issues, are important assets for
the realization of the mission of this project.
