Background: Joint Coordinating Committee

The Joint Coordinating Committee (JCC) has disbanded. For up-to-date information click here.

The JCC was comprised of 16 members equally drawn from the government and the voluntary sector. The mandate of the JCC was to:

  • Provide overall coordination to the component initiatives/projects and "Joint Tables" of the Voluntary Sector Initiative, particularly for joint activities related to the harmonization of consultation, communication and research (including those that involve the voluntary and private sectors, the federal and provincial governments and the public). This includes:
  • Help manage the collaborative process on behalf of the government and the voluntary sector. This includes:
  • Provide a mechanism for dispute resolution.
